Site: Mesnes Park, Wigan, United Kingdom
Mesnes Park is an outstanding example of a Victorian urban park. With manicured lawns, a small lake, blooming flowers and rose gardens. Legend has it that visitors to the park who rub the shoes of the Sir Francis Sharp Powell Statue will be blessed with the best of Wigan luck!
Facilities include: café, mini golf (seasonal), playgrounds and sport grounds.
Mesnes Park is currently undergoing a multi million pound restoration scheme after a successful application to the Heritage Lottery Fund. Site services will be upgraded throughout the park, including an enhanced café facility. The park is still open to the general public.
Thanks very much for viewing and reading, one more time!.
